Today we share a story about the Crossroads Baptist Church in Hitop. Led by Pastor Kirk, the church is almost as old as the hills themselves, serving a congregation from all over the area. For there are three things that are a common thread in these parts: hard work, family, and church.
Crossroads Baptist is just one of many churches one will find all over Appalachia, in a lot of cases nestled up near the tracks that are the lifeblood of many towns. Crossroads church is a fairly small church compared to others in the “big city”, but it’s congregation, from infants to elderly, is a strong one. Everyone loves Pastor Kirk as well, who has been leading the church for eighteen years now. In Hitop, all activity stops in the area when that church bell rings on Sunday’s…..

I have been a railfan since the age of 6, and a modeler since the age of fourteen. This is my first fully (well not quite) completed model railroad.
