Today brought great progress on the layout expansion! Starting at 10:30 this morning and finishing about 4 something, the following was finished: modules clamped to the main layout where they’ll stay, the other end modules bolted together, a few minor track issues ironed out, and finally all track soldered.
We also I almost forgot put a bit more wax paper around the sides of the modules for scenery work coming soon. Finally, last but not least, I had enough track power off the main layout even before wiring anything to test both left and right modules with one of my locomotives and some cars. We’re getting there! Below is a video of my geep coming off the main layout into the new Dickinson yard.

I have been a railfan since the age of 6, and a modeler since the age of fourteen. This is my first fully (well not quite) completed model railroad. I fell in love with trains early in life, ride them when I can, have volunteered on many steam fan trips and have ridden many more steam excursion trips, have belonged to several model rr clubs, and did a stint as a brakeman/conductor on a midwest regional railroad. My layout was published in Model Railroader magazine in 2016. I hope all of you enjoy the ride here on my sites! I now have the second blog/website up for my other hobby: wargaming with Flames Of War. I have been involved in wargaming off and on since my teens......
