As promised, here is update number one. The past two weeks have seen old man winter hit our part of the country again, so that means staying in and working on projects. It also of course means not much time out on the layout. On a few nice days however, some tasks were completed on the layout.
One task was putting up an inexpensive battery powered clock for myself and any operators to use. Another task completed was placing this electrical substation on the layout behind where Electro-Met will sit. This is a pre-built Bachmann model:
Next, I was able to label all the yards, town names, industries, and waybill boxes:
Look for the next update shortly, as I start to work on the remaining buildings to finish out the layout, plus place all the detail parts on the layout to finish up: guardrails, telephone poles, parking bumpers, finishing the barbed wire fencing, and some other details. Also coming: rubber floor mats for the garage. Everything except the trees to be added should be done by March 30th, so stay tuned!
