Here we have the ProtoThrottle made by Iowa Scaled Engineering. The throttle is a beauty as far as design and engineering goes. The controls prototypically mimic an actual locomotive control stand. The throttle works through a separate receiver that plugs into your cab bus.
I first tried this out on Spring Creek Model Trains display unit at a train show last year, then proceeded to watch every YouTube video of modelers testing the throttle and/or using it on their layouts.
The appropriate CV changes need only be made to each locomotive decoder as far as acceleration and deceleration to get the throttle up and running. This hopefully will be accomplished shortly.
As on many modelers switching layouts, this has worked fantastic, and seems perfect for a switching layout especially. Looking forward to using this prototypical throttle!

This is the whole reason to switch to DCC, isn’t it?

Not sure Iām understanding your reply, but as the throttle is for DCC operation, Iād say it would be a reason to switch to a more realistic prototypical throttle for sure

I was saying it jokingly, I was trying to find a fitting emoji, but couldn’t. š
