This week here in Colorado the weather has turned nice and fairly warm, so it’s given me the chance to go out and do a bit of work on the layout.
Along with a little ballast work, I today took some of the Martin Welberg tufts with weeds, along with my recently acquired bushes and placed some on the current layout. White glue was used to glue these down, then just a touch of Woodland Scenics ground foam was glued down around the edges. Photos below of this work:
Weeds placed along team track dock at Alloy
Weeds along scrapyard fence
Weeds alongside Dickinson yard ladder
Weedy bushes placed alongside main to Nitro
More weeds/bushes placed near Nitro yard office
Final weeds and bushes placed along Allied Chemical lot

I have been a railfan since the age of 6, and a modeler since the age of fourteen. This is my first fully (well not quite) completed model railroad. I fell in love with trains early in life, ride them when I can, have volunteered on many steam fan trips and have ridden many more steam excursion trips, have belonged to several model rr clubs, and did a stint as a brakeman/conductor on a midwest regional railroad. My layout was published in Model Railroader magazine in 2016. I hope all of you enjoy the ride here on my sites! I now have the second blog/website up for my other hobby: wargaming with Flames Of War. I have been involved in wargaming off and on since my teens......
